Araya is a creative technologist, designer, and artist working across interaction, creative coding, and visual design. With a background in public policy and experience building across decentralized systems, their practice explores the structures that shape online life and the culture, intimacy, and awkwardness of being a person on the internet.

Through curiosity and play, they expose how power and visibility move through digital systems and re-imagine alternative ways of engagement. They co-founded (WinPrivacy), a creative agency for non-extractive technologies, framing privacy as a feminist and political project rooted in autonomy, self-expression, and collective power.

Speculative work as a refusal of surveillance-based identity. Face Value is a web-based artwork of AI-generated portraits. The fictional faces are fractured into planes that drift in space and parallax as you move the mouse. Every twenty seconds the face dissolves and regenerates before it can resolve into a constructable image. It's built to stay illegible to any system that would file or steal it. This work attempts to give the safety the industry never could, and these fake faces are the only ones who ever got it.

We're told that our safety is tied to KYC security, that we need to surrender our biometrics because refusal means exclusion from banking, borders, and daily life. In 2025 alone, the databases leaked 6.1 billion personal records, and the highest hitters are the marginalised and undocumented folks.

A whole industry built on securing identity produced the largest identity exposures in history, and protection was never difficult, it was never for us. To be illegible to the system, the piece insists, is itself a form of safety.
